Does anyone know why this establishment was shut down.?
A few weeks ago i was meeting a friend to do some shopping downtown she said she she wanted to eat here all her coworkers had recommended it. I had the salmon and she had the lamb. It was superb. I can not rave enough the service was excellent all of the staff was so nice. The atmosphere was warm and inviting. Over the weekend my husband wanted to go town to get some cigars downtown and i made him stop here for breakfast. ( he is more of a dennys breakfast kind of guy you know not very fancy) after much manipulation he agreed to try it. I have to tell you he was so pleased with the food he even went back the next morning and got something by his self on the way to work. So if they can convert my husband to enjoy something besides Dennys every now and then I am a fan forever. So to all my friends that thought my guy was not fancy enough GOURMET HUT has transformed him. I CAN NOT THANK YOU ENOUGH GOURMET HUT
MoreGreat service. Food was fabulous the Shrimp and Grits are amazing. Not to mention the music is soothing with the outdoor atmosphere.
MoreThe atmosphere is very nice and the live music they had was great. I went in with a very large group which was a very big mistake. This place is not made for that. It’s best for couples and small groups. It took about an hour and a half just to get a plate in front of me. The reason I give two stars is that I sweat my butt off waiting, paid a very large bill, and in the end the food was lacking spices and/or flavor. It was also hard to get any service because there was only one waiter. I dunno. I don’t think I’d try the place again.
MorePlace is great! Really cool spot with great seating. Not too mention tasty coffee with delicious dessert options. A must stop if visiting St. Augustine
MoreAriel was our waiter and was fantastic, the whole staff including the chef were quite friendly and accommodating. Delicious food, great experience!
MoreThe best bread pudding ever!I don’t know how good the rest of their food is, Cos I just ate 3 courses of bread pudding 🤷🏼♂️It was a blackberry variety, and it was amazing!
MoreRefreshingly unique, a touch of decadence served with personality...can't wait to do Christmas here!
MoreI cannot say enough about how fantastic of a time we had this evening. Everything from the service to the atmosphere to the food was FANTASTIC. The charcuterie board was just as delicious as it looked. Can not wait to go back. Perfect place for a relaxing date night. Definitely an underrated hidden gem of St. Augustine.
MoreIncredible place. Super excellent service. Everyone is very attentive. Good prices. Every negative review is just wrong!!!! Unhappy, bitter people who don't understand an small business sometimes short of staff. Just complainers. We have been back time, after time. Super romantic place.
MoreIncredible food, hospitality, and atmosphere. This place has a home cooked, personal feel, with serious cooking chops. Favorite spot to hang out in the area
MoreAriel was such an amazing server, so nice and so attentive he even impressed my mom, who is one picky picky lady. The Shrimp Po' Boy I had was so simple İ was amazed at how delicious it was -- perfectly blackened shrimp. Also the best french onion soup I've had in a long time, has made me want to eat it more often. The outdoor seating with heat lamps and fire pit are a great touch. Definitely recommend for a lovely date night. I'm just sad I didn't order the Mac n' cheese now.
MoreThe food is great, the staff is great! Overall a really good experience and would definitely recommend to anyone in St. Augustine!
MoreNo wait for a table. Now we know why. Took 40-45 minutes to get our order. We were not warned in advance only one cook in kitchen. Pork belly sandwich a sloppy wet lukewarm mess. The shrimp etouffe was a thick floury broth with nothing in it but 3-4 tough shrimp with tails still on and with the guts to charge $12 for it. Warning- STAY AWAY!
MoreThey Canceled Reservation on Mother’s Day right before reservation! So sad. So we made a reservation for Mother’s Day several weeks in advance. We were are all set for a great dinner and are greeted by a young woman who says they have run out of ALL their food for Mother’s Day! This is at 715 and there is nothing left to serve. She says they personally called everyone to cancel - they did not - and they cannot serve us tonight - at all. To boot the owner/chef is not there to field us. They put a 16 year old who is trying to do a dance and make it better. She offers a suggestion for dinner where there is a great bar. Really? Embarrassing- the food may be ok but the lack of professionalism is astonishing. Shame on you, Gourmet Hut.
MoreFound this place accidentally while trying to find a place to drink on Saturday night. Great service thanks to Alysha, $4 mimosas and sangrias and the best charcuterie platter I’ve had my whole time in st Augustine. Steak was cooked beautifully and the mashed potatoes were seasoned perfectly.Intimate, cozy, quiet and tucked away. A real hidden gem with a open pit fire to keep you warm on long nights. A must visit if you’re ever in town.
MoreService was slow. It was busy but do wish we had more attention. I ordered the Jumbalaya which was over rice. Dry for my liking but the shrimp in it was amazing. Seating and ambiance is amazing!
MoreNice little spot to just sit and relax with their happy hour sangria's that were only $3 each. Service was awesome! Would definitely recommend stopping by!!
MoreThe banana foster french toast was great. Alysha was a great server.
Went in thinking we would start with the $3.00 Mimosas, after waiting 15 minutes we found out that.....they were out of Mimosas. So we opted for the Sangria...well I would not call a glass of red wine on ice with no fruit Sangria. With every intention of having brunch there, we decided we probably should go somewhere else. Hope your experience is better than ours.
MoreCutest spot ever! Went with my significant other for his birthday getaway weekend on complete accident trying to find somewhere to have a few drinks on a Saturday night and we were wow’d to say the least. Alysha was our server and she was friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive. The food was beyond delicious. Best filet mignon I’ve ever had. Absolutely worth the price and a great garden dining experience tucked away from the hustle and bustle of the tourist spots. 10/10 will go again.
MoreThis place is just plain cool. Love the inviting garden like setting. Music drew us in just as much as our thirst. If Joseph is working no doubt you will be looked after properly. He watches over his tables like a shepherd.
MoreWe had an awesome experience here. Wandered in for some coffee and stayed a few hours for some delicious food and fantastic hospitality, starting with a muffin straight out of the oven. He even brought a cooked treat out for our pup along with our food. The coffee was great and the food was even better. Thoughtful details in ingredients that really hit the spot. The garden/patio seating is beautiful too! Thank you! Will be back when we’re in the area.
MoreExcellent service, rack of lamp and peri peri chicken was excellent
Best food We have had in a long time. Great beer and wine selection. Chef and want staff excellent. Thank you for a good dinner.
MoreThis location is Under New Management. I'm pleased to report that they are incredibly friendly and provide outstanding service. They asked the several questions and helped us to make our choices from the menu. I would happily return here again over and over.
MoreGood food loved sitting outside. Alysha was great.
Had iced coffee with a friend. Was a nice little shop with a sea breeze inside. Friendly staff. Would go back. There is palm reading outside during the day.
MoreIf you want a romantic night with your partner, this is the place! ❤ Love the green patio, staff super friendly ,food was amazing (we recommend the shrimp ceviche) . We will come back again! Thank you guys!!
MoreVery sweet place. Food was great & service was good also.
Not going to lie at first I was a little skeptical about going because my wife picked it! It was by far one of my favorite places to eat while visiting St Augustine. I don’t eat meat and my wife does, we both loved the meals we picked!! Even more amazing when I found out they grow most of their vegetables, not a lot of restaurants do that. Lastly the portions were huge, we order marinated veggies, hummus tray and the Caprese. You won’t be disappointed especially if you love veggies and $3 sangria 😊Well came back to the this place for some quick bites before a wedding. I'm super sad that the quality of food changed in 6 months time ☹️ I paid $16 for 2 tiny scoops of humus with some mildew tasting carrots 2 small tomatoes wedges and one rotten mushroom and a couple slice of bread. Nothing like the first time we ordered the humus platter. The salad was half the size than last time and this was supposed to be the dinner serving. Well guess we will never go back ever!!!!!
MoreI don't give out 5 stars often, but this place deserves them. The kitchen was closing and it was late, but the co-owner said we could hang out and even reopened the place for us. The lamb was to die for... I would actually crawl back there for that lamb. The service was fabulous. He was charming and attentive without being annoying. We had a lovely chat with the staff, and everyone was so relaxed we never felt like rushing. If you are in Saint Augustine, stop here.
MoreOur experience was great until our entree arrived. The jambalaya was so salty that it was not edible. We nicely told our waiter about it, and he got extremely defensive. He said he had tasted it earlier that day and that since he is from Louisiana, he is used to the saltiness. I love salty food too, but there was clearly a mistake made with our dish. Our waiter made zero effort to accommodate us or reconcile the situation. It was so disappointing because we were having a great time up until then.
MoreMost adorable place to eat and a most when you visit Saint Augustine. The chefs are amazing and will surprise with every delicious dish. Highly recommended!
MoreHad lunch here. Cute restaurant, tasty food, and the server Alysha was excellent! We'll be back!
MoreAmazing nice cheap sangria and very unique New Orleans style food! Best gumbo I’ve tasted!
MoreExcellent service from our server, Alysha. Quaint location, delicious food!
Amazing atmosphere and service. The only thing better was the food!! Banana fosters French toast was amazing. Their breakfast sandwich encompasses all fresh lineup that rivals the best breakfast I've eaten. Ever
MoreUnique romantic rustic outdoor seating. Food is quite decent. Our steak came out overcooked but still quite tasty. The lamb stew was quite delicious.
MoreAbsolutely beautiful garden café to sit and enjoy their delicious coffees
Live musician playing while you enjoy fresh ground coffee. Hungry? Anything on the menu is amazing! This place has a rustic look, meals are eaten outside in their garden. At night there is white Christmas lights hanging from the gazebo to the several trees and plants. The Spanish guitar playing softly in the background provides total relaxation to your dinning experience. Visit once and the memory will never be forgotten.
MoreI wanted to eat and have a few drinks here so bad. It was closed Friday came back Saturday and we barely got noticed before seated. Once we got a table we waited about 15 minutes and not on person came by to acknowledge us. I guess their business is so good they don't need us. Best of luck to you!
MoreNice place with a patio style sitting and great breakfast food along with wonderful service.
MoreWe found this place by accident and are so happy we did. The service was awesome. Very friendly, good food, and a very relaxing and clean outdoor setting. We will be back!!
MoreUnparalled service, strong beans, fantastic location and courtyard. Coffee so good it left me breathless after pounding my heart for hours, cheeks beat red. It even lit my cigarette afterwards and held me. 5/5.
MoreTerrible service. They brought us one plate at the time so we all ate individually. They said they only had one person cooking because “they are a small boutique restaurant”. I don’t think that’s a good excuse to bring up plates individually. The server was nice but I felt he got mad because we complaint about the food not being brought to us on time. Ohh and they forgot one dish that they never brought!!The food wasn’t a “wooww”. It was ok. Definitely not worth the price at all. The environment was great, we loved the patio and the lights. So just come for drinks! They can’t be wrong 😂
MoreGreat little breakfast spot! Fresh food! Awesome coffee next door. Nice relaxing outdoor Garden seating.
MoreOverpriced and terrible service. It took 35 minutes for my soup and salad to come out. Two tables near us sent back cold food. I agreed to eat here because their board said lamb and rice, but lamb and potatoes came out. It’s almost like they ignored you because they knew also the service was taking way too long. Overpriced and super slow service
MoreFarm to table, outdoor dining with live, chilled out music.
Wanted to love this place. The garden seating is just beautiful in such a perfect location. After waiting 40 minutes for our breakfast we were excited for the beautiful dishes that arrived, but please dont serve uncooked scrambled eggs and hard potatoes after making me wait so long. The server says they had only one cook on Easter Sunday??? Maybe tell me that before we sit that we will be in for a wait instead of waiting until we're frying in the sun for 40 minutes and starving. If we have to wait that long at least make sure the food is cooked.
